Meet Joe Knight from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

I became an instant fan when I heard "Horse". That was in 1972 when I was a senior in high school. I went to see America for the first time in 1973 in Boone, NC at App. State U. They were awesome!!!!! Everyone who has ever met me knows that I am a huge fan of America.

I didn't get to see them again until 1981 in Charlotte, NC. They were opening for Christopher Cross, and they didn't get to play very long.

They came back to Charlotte in 1983 when "the Border" was a hit so they were touring on their own. I took my two small children (at the time) and we had a great time. There were lots of families there with small children... a real family type atmosphere. My girls Stephanie and Kimberley loved the music and the show.

In 1991 my wife, Terry, and I went to Myrtle Beach, SC to see the guys again. They played at a club called the Atlantis and it was great!!! Thanks to my wife I got to meet Gerry and Dewey. We had a great chat and they signed our T-shirts that we bought. I got their autographs (Michael Woods' also). What a good band and what good men. Here I am 45 years old, my children are grown and I still feel like a teenager when I get a new America record. Keep rocking guys. When you come close enough I will buy tickets to your concerts and I will buy every album you produce.

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Joe.
