Gerald Kelley

Meet Gerald Kelley from Huntsville, Alabama.

I became a fan while attending high school in Okinawa, Japan (fellow Air Force brat). ALIBI was my first real experience with the band ... I had heard and liked many of the earlier hits, but upon listening to an entire lp and getting into the album cuts ... I was hooked. I finished school in 1981 and moved to California to begin college. The first concert was the New Year's Eve show in 1981 at Knott's Berry Farm. All of you know that feeling at the first show ... they were outstanding. VIEW FROM the GROUND was released soon after and I caught them at the Greek just as "You Can Do Magic" was hitting, believe me..America at the Greek is a great experience. I was able to see one show at the Greek and one at Irvine Meadows the next year before heading to Auburn University.

I arrived in Alabama in 1984 and have since made a number of road trips to see Gerry and Dewey perform. I've seen them play throughout the Southeast, but had the best time over a two day period in April of 1991. I had the chance to meet them as they played a small venue in Columbus, GA. They were very nice guys and it was an honor to chat with the people responsible for music that was such a positive part of my life. The following day brought a simply outstanding performance at Piedmont Park in Atlanta ... the crowd was into the show and the guys were perfect, as usual.

I'm in Huntsville now, working with an engineering firm and eagerly awaiting the next release. I was unable to get to the recent show in MS, but am hoping that Southeastern dates will be added to Tour '97. After thousands and thousands of plays on the stereo and 30 shows, they are still able to take me to a better place with their music.

Enjoyed reading about all of you fellow fans. Drop me a line.

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Gerald.
