Anita Bloom

Meet Anita Bloom from Potomac, Maryland.

Hi everyone! As you might have guessed if you've read my posts, I'm a fan since . . . well, let's just say it's a really long time. I've been lucky enough to have met the band a couple of times and not only are they world-class musicians and consummate professionals, but they're all- around nice guys as well. It's rare to see a band who cares as much about their fans as their fans care about them.

I guess you could say I'm addicted to their music. Unlike some bands who have one or two great songs per album, America albums are quality from start to end. I won't begin to name favorites or do any analyses, since it's impossible to choose and hard to put into words.

My husband and I are empty-nesters these days, with one daughter off at law school at Catholic University and the other in undergraduate study at the University of Miami (Florida). The only one at home besides us is my little dog, Page, who I adore. So, with the two girls off, one of our favorite pastimes is traveling. When we are able to combine a trip with a rock concert, all the better. Besides America, we've got lots of favorites which run the gamut, including The Moody Blues, Jay and the Americans, Chicago, Gene Pitney, Johnny Rivers, and Dave Mason. As far as new music, Maroon 5 is terrific.

I've got quite a few serious hobbies besides rock 'n roll, including gardening, antiquing, designing and sewing children's clothing, and I volunteer at the local animal shelter.

I live in suburban Maryland, about 20 minutes north of Washington, DC, which puts me in a nice central location for travelling up and down the east coast.

A gigantic thanks to Steve for putting together this incredibly comprehensive site. Steve, how do you do it?

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Anita.
