Dana Morrison

Meet Dana Morrison from Abilene, Texas.

Hi. My name is Dana Morrison, and I became an America fan from the first time I heard A Horse With No Name. It came out my sophomore year in high school. I've seen them in concert 4 times over the years. In 1977 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. In 78 at the Anaheim convention center, in about 84 or 85 I think at the Orange county fair in Costa Mesa, and at the Celebrity Theatre in Anaheim in 1987.

I live in Abilene TX now, even though I'm originally from Anaheim, Calif. I'm bummed I did not know that they were gonna be in concert in Sweetwater TX on Aug. 31st. I live only 40 miles away from Sweetwater, and I would've gone there for sure if I had known. I just found out about VenturaHighway.com a few weeks ago.

My wife (as of the 25th of Oct.) just got here to the U.S.A. on August 21st from the Philippines. She loves America also. I'm 47, and she's 32. Her name is Cleo. We like all the members including Dan, but I think our favorite is Gerry, both of us really like him. 2 of the songs we played at our wedding were I Need You, and You Can Do Magic.

At one time in the 70's I had every America album on vinyl. Sadly I had to get rid of a lot of things with all my moving around since 1980, including my album collection. In addition to all the popular songs of the 70's some of my favorites were Amber Cascades, Watership Down, To Each His Own, and Ole Virginia. I think Hearts was my favorite album back then. some of Cleo's favorite America songs are Sister Golden Hair, You Can Do Magic, Lonely People, The Border, and Inspector Mills.

Anyway America's music had a very positive influence on my teenage years, through to the early 20's of my life. They will always be a favorite of mine, and I look forward to seeing them again in concert, and for Cleo to see them the 1st time. We're both greatful that we can both listen to America, and sing the songs together. Thank you for having such a positive group for a positive musical group.

Sincerely,
Cleo and Dana Morrison
