Oh, hold me tight
Won't you be my woman tonight?
Oh, hold me tight
Won't you be my woman tonight?
I get the shivers up and down my spine
The only time I'm happy's when I know she's mine
So hold me, hold me tight
Treat me right
Won't you be my woman tonight?
So treat me right
Won't you be my woman tonight?
First I see you
And then you let me go
The only time I touch you's when you don't wanna know
So hold me, hold me tight, all right.
Hold me tight
Hold me tight
Won't you be my woman tonight
Hold me tight
Won't you be my woman tonight
I get the shivers up and down my spine
The only time I'm happy's when I know she's mine
So, hold me, hold me tight
Hold me tight, woman tonight
Highway Highlight (from the box set booklet)
The third single released from Hearts was "Woman Tonight," a Peek song
with a playful Jamaican lilt that made it to #44. "I discovered reggae when
we were in London working with George," Dan says. "At first I said, 'This is
the weirdest music I've ever heard.' But I was really fascinated--part of it
was the quest to keep from getting bored. So this was my attempt at white-boy
reggae. We all got into it; it was fun to hear each one of us take a verse
and give it the treatment. But what was so good about that particular song
was that Dewey turned into a monster guitar player. He played this thing
called 'the bag,' a guitar effect where you put a tube into your mouth, and
it makes this weird wah-wah sound. To hear him progress as a guitar player
and play lead was really neat."
