Moon Song
Written by Dewey Bunnell, ©1972
Found on Homecoming, Horse With No Name, and Homecoming-DVD-Audio.

The moon begins to rise upon my fallen eyes
I'm taken back to firelight
A drunken dreamer's plan to stay just as I am
Amidst the dancing paradise
A case of beer, a smile, a motorcycle child
I feel the glow surround me
And you, and you, and you, and you, and you

Orange funnels and snowy tunnels
Summer troubles and books in bundles
Orange funnels and snowy tunnels
And you, and you, and you, and you, and you

If you listen closely to the last 35 seconds of "Moon Song", you can hear voices in the background saying something. There is a track that has been layed down in reverse. Using a WAVE file editor, Vic Roman and his nephew recorded the last part of the song, played it in reverse, and were able to hear clearly what the voices are saying. You can listen for yourself to a Real Audio soundclip of the last 35 seconds of the song played backwards. You'll discover that they're saying "All good men come to the aid of their country."

In order to listen to the Real Audio sound clip above, you will need to have the Real Audio player which is available free from the Real Audio web site. Real Audio sound clips are identified by the blue notes () in parentheses. Simply click on the notes to play the song.
