Vern Scheck

Meet Vern Scheck from Eaton Rapids, Michigan.

I was first introduced to America in 1974 by a friend of mine while I was stationed in England at an American Air Force Base called Upper Heyford. My friend, Wesley Choate, from Oklahoma had Hearts and Homecoming. We spent a lot of time listening to the albums on his stereo. They meant a lot to a couple of boys homesick for the States. Since then in the last 20 years or so he has gone on to other interests and I have continued to be a big fan.

I used to think that I had all of their albums but after finding this web site I now realize that there are a couple of Albums that I don't own. I just never saw them in the stores here where I live. Eaton Rapids is a small town fifteen minutes south of the city of Lansing and it is the only Eaton Rapids on the planet Earth.

First a little about me. I am married with three kids; two are twin little girls and an elementary aged boy. I am a starving photographer. Thank goodness my wife works for the state. I also work in a camera shop when I am not on a shooting project.

Anyway the first America concert I attended was in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1984 with my ex-girlfriend. Then in 1992, shortly after the birth of my son, I attended a concert with my wife at the Battle Creek Airport in Battle Creek, Michigan, during the international Balloon Festival. America returned again several years later, 96 or 97 I believe.

I have enjoyed America for a long time. I hope that some day I get to say "hi" personally. Take care and keep up the good sounds.

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Vern.
