Douglas Gavin

Meet Douglas Gavin from Paisley, Scotland.

I became an America fan when Horse with no name was released away back in '71.

Learned to play the guitar listening to the first album 'America'. some hard chords in that one.

Saw the band live for my one and only time at The Apollo in Glasgow in 1975 supported by Poco. Still lives in my memory as one of the best concerts I've been to.

Got all albums to date including Human Nature, which is an import in UK (what a fantastic album), Gerry and Dewey just get better and better. Even my teenage kids are becoming America fans.

Lack of info on the band in the UK, but thank goodness I bought a computer with internet facilities. I've downloaded more information on the band in one hour than 28 years as a fan.

One of these days I'm going to actually see Ventura Highway in the flesh.

Hope America can tour UK soon.

Glad to be able to post this message. It's great to know there is a renewed interest in the band and lots of fellow fans out there.

Gerry and Dewey and not forgetting Dan, have been part of my life and an inspiration to me during all ups and downs in my life.

Thanks guys.

An old 42 year old fan.

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Douglas.
