Philip Stewart

Meet Philip Stewart from Holland, Michigan.

I am a freelance video producer and editor. I have recently finished an hour long documentary with Will Ackerman on hand-built acoustic guitar makers. In some strange way I feel that America has led me down this road.

My brother took me to my first America concert in Chicago in 1976.I was absolutely hooked. The bands' tight harmonies and skilled guitar work led me to learn the guitar which continues to be a passion. In fact, much of my guitar training involved countless hours of playing along with each of their albums, particularly their first. The guitar lead on "Here" continues to inspire me.

I just wish the boys could somehow tap back into the vein of creativity which launched them. I really miss the edginess of their earlier releases. But no matter, I still consider myself to be one of their biggest fans.
