Robert Graves

Meet Robert Graves from Romford, Essex, England.

Hi from over the pond. For years I thought I was the only "America" fan to exist in this country but thanks to the internet and this website I now know that I'm not and that there are many of us in the world. I first came across America early 1971/72 when I was 15 or 16 and a friend of mine had the "America" album. As soon as I heard the track "Clarice" off it I knew it was my type of music. I immediately went out and bought the album for myself. Then around the same time "Horse with No Name" went to number 1 here and I was hooked. They were the inspiration for me learning to play the guitar. I try to play as many of their songs as I can to the best of my ability but obviously not to their standard. I haven't been able to find any cd/tape by America over here since History came out but now I've found this site I should be able to put that right.

Incidentally, I still have that first America album on vinyl that I bought all those years ago. I have played it so many times I wore out my record player - time to buy the cd version.

Keep the music coming boys.

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Rob.
