Two singles were released from this album:
A group of country musicians performed the song "Hope" and received a 1996 Grammy nomination.
Here's what Gerry and Dewey had to say about this album:
Here it is 1994! Twenty-four years since "America" formed ... straight out of high school! Sometimes it seems like yesterday and other times it feels like a lifetime ago. This is album number 18 ... or something! A lot has changed in this last quarter century; this album was digitally recorded using the latest state-of-the-art technology and instrumentation of course, but some things haven't changed. Harmony voices sound just as nice as they always did. Notes and words and pianos and guitars sound just like they used to, and it feels just as good to be making a new record! We have settled on this group of songs for our first release on American Gramaphone because they seem to offer a little something for everyone ... including two old favorites to help set your bearings!
Familiar names like Dan Peek, Russ Ballard, Bill Mumy, Robert Haimer, Mark Linett, and our dear friend Carl Wilson prove the old saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same!" So, for our long-time listeners we say thanks for stickin' around and if you are new ... welcome to the latest chapter ... Hourglass!
